Just a quick note to say that at the moment we are running a waiting list for both our junior and adult beginners sessions. We had quite a few new people start with us in January, in both sessions, and are also taking on another group of beginners when we re-start next week.
We provide all the kit and equipment for people to learn to fence, so even though we have lots of physical space, we can only take on a certain number of complete beginners at any time. This also makes sure, especially with the junior session, that we have a safe coach: student ratio. A lot of our beginners continue fencing after the end of their 10-week course, building on what they’ve learned and often trying a different weapon, so we still need both kit and coach time for them as they establish themselves in the sport.
The best way into fencing is via a taster session, to see if it’s likely to be a good fit, but we won’t be holding any of these in the near future until we can see that we’ll have spaces in a beginners course for people to move into. As a result, we’re running a waiting list for both the junior and adult beginners – please get in touch if you’d like to join it. This list will be used to advise of upcoming taster sessions for the age group in question and any planned beginners courses, as no further dates have been set for the rest of the year at time of writing.
